Ada seorang nenek yang duduk di dekat seorang pria. Mereka sedang mengamati anak dan cucunya bermain di taman kota.

“Lihatlah, gadis kecil yang berbaju kuning itu cucuku” kata sang nenek sambil menunjuk ke arah gadis kecil yang sedang bermain ayunan.

“Wah cantik sekali cucu anda” jawab pria itu. “Anda lihat anak laki-laki yang sedang bermain pasir mengenakan jaket berwarna cokelat? Dia anakku” ujar pria itu.

Sambil memandangi jam tangannya, pria itu memanggil anaknya dan menyuruhnya untuk segera pulang.

“Ayah, beri aku waktu lima menit lagi ya. Aku belum puas bermain,” kata anaknya dengan wajah memelas.

“Baiklah, lima menit lagi,” jawabnya.

Sang anak kembali bermain pasir dengan riangnya. Lima menit kemudian, pria itu berdiri dan memanggil anaknya kembali, “Nak, ayo pulang, sudah lima menit berlalu.”

Lagi-lagi anaknya memohon, “Ayah, lima menit lagi ya. Kan hanya lima menit saja. Boleh ya, ayah.”

Pria itu hanya menggangguk menyetujui permintaan anaknya.

“Wah, anda ternyata seorang ayah yg sabar ya” kata nenek itu.

Pria itupun terseyum kecil lalu menjawab, “Anak sulungku terbunuh oleh sopir yang ugal-ugalan saat sedang bermain di taman. Aku tidak pernah mempunyai waktu yang cukup untuk menemainya bermain. Untuk sekarang ini, aku akan memberikan seluruh waktuku yang ada untuk anakku meskipun hanya lima menit lagi. Aku tidak ingin mengulangi kesalahan yang sama.”

“Mungkin bagi anakku, dia mendapat bonus waktu lima menit untuk bermain pasir, bermain ayunan dan bermain yang lainnya. Padahal sesungguhnya akulah yang mendapat waktu tambahan untuk bisa terus melihatnya bermain, menikmati kebersamaan dan melihat canda tawanya.”

Hidup ini bukanlah suatu perlombaan. Hidup adalah tentang membuat skala prioritas. Prioritas apa yang kita miliki saat ini? Berikanlah pada seseorang yang kita kasihi, lima menit saja dari waktu yang kita miliki dan kita pastilah tidak akan menyesal selamanya.
