Tikus, binatang kecil itu mendengarnya. Katanya, “Aku kenal suara itu.”

Ia berlari kencang ke arah suara itu. Ia melihat raja hutan terjerat dalam jala dan sedang ditarik.

“Tenanglah, saya akan memutuskan tali-tali jerat itu,” kata tikus kecil itu pelan.

Dengan cepat ia mulai menggerogoti tali-tali dan akhirnya singa bisa melarikan diri.

Seekor tikus pun tahu balas budi, dan mampu membebaskan seekor singa.
