Kisah Ulat dan Kepik

Ada seekor ulat kecil sejak lahir menetap di daerah yang tidak cukup air, sehingga sepanjang hidupnya, dia selalu kekurangan makanan.

Di dalam hati kecilnya ada keinginan untuk pindah dari rumah lamanya demi mencari kehidupan dan lingkungan yang baru. Tapi dari hari ke hari dia tidak juga memiliki keberanian untuk melaksanakan niatnya.

Hingga suatu hari, karena kondisi alam yang semakin tidak bersahabat, si ulat terpaksa membulatkan tekat memberanikan diri keluar dari rumahnya, mulai merayap ke depan tanpa berpaling lagi ke belakang.

Setelah berjalan agak jauh, dia mulai merasa bimbang, katanya dalam hati, “Jika aku sekarang berbalik kembali ke rumah lama rasanya masih keburu, mumpung aku belum berjalan terlalu jauh. Karena kalau aku berjalan lebih jauh lagi, jangan-jangan jalan pulang pun takkan kutemukan lagi, mungkin aku akhirnya aku tersesat dan… entah bagaimana nasibku nanti!”

Ketika si ulat sedang maju mundur penuh kebimbangan dan pertimbangan, tiba-tiba ada sebuah suara menyapa di dekatnya, “Halo ulat kecil! Apa kabar? Aku adalah kepik. Senang sekali melihatmu keluar dari rumah lamamu. Aku tahu, engkau tentu bosan kekurangan makan karena musim dan cuara yang tidak baik terus menerus. Kepergianmu tentu untuk mencari kehidupan yang lebih baik, kan?”

Si ulat pun menjawab, “Benar. Aku memutuskan pergi dari sarangku untuk kehidupan yang lebih baik. Apakah engkau tahu, apa yang ada di depan sana?”

“Aku tahu, jalan ke depan yang akan kau lalui, walaupun tidak terlalu jauh tetapi terjal dan berliku, dan lebih jauh di sana ada sebuah goa yang gelap yang harus kau lalui, tetapi setelah kamu mampu melewati kegelapan, akan terbentang sebuah tempat yang terang, indah dan sangat subur. Kamu pasti menyukainya. Di sana kau pasti bisa hidup dengan baik seperti yang kamu inginkan.”

Si kepik dengan bersemangat memberi dorongan kepada ulat yang tampak ragu dan ketakutan. “Kepik, apakah tidak ada jalan pintas untuk sampai ke sana?”

“Tidak sobat. Jika kamu ingin hidup lebih baik dari hari ini, kamu harus melewati semua tantangan itu. Nasihatku, tetaplah berjalan langkah demi langkah, fokuskan pada tujuanmu. Niscaya kamu akan tiba di sana dengan selamat. Selamat jalan dan selamat berjuang sobat!” Sambil berteriak penuh semangat, si kepik pun meninggalkan ulat.

Kesuksesan adalah milik mereka yang secara sadar, tahu apa yang menjadi keinginannya sekaligus siap menghadapi rintangan apapun yang menghadang, serta mau memperjuangkannya habis habisan melalui cara yang benar.
